The shoemaker’s hand, eye and passion are fundamental to realize shoes made to measure. The carefully done choice of materials, and the strictly hand-made handicraft, are still an event of great competence that cannot be improvised.
A series of very delicate working stages, starting from the humble gesture of taking feet measurements, to those ones of preparing the mould, that must be the most possible similar to the foot, the drawing of the model, the obtaining of prints, the cutting of the leather or of the fabrics, the fleshing and the parallel sewing, make the vamp ready for the assembling on the mould. It is at this stage that the hide is drawn, is stretched, is shaped, breathes and is modified according to temperature and the given humidity. Afterwards, the shoemaker attends to the bottom and to the sole in order to give the foot the ideal surface.
